Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) will be held across the country over a six-week period in September and October 2011. Twenty countries will participate in the 48-game Tournament. Held every four years, Rugby World Cup is the third biggest sporting event in the world.

Northland - first land of Rugby

Northland is the first region of New Zealand - historically, culturally and geographically.  Two Rugby World Cup 2011 Pool A matches will be held in Whangarei and three teams will train and stay in both the Bay of Islands and Whangarei during the Tournament.
